Dollymount, Co. Dublin
Dublin City Council have included, in their Management Plan for North Bull Island, an agreed Code of Conduct for wind-powered activities on Dollymount - we would ask that everyone please respects this as it helped to secure use of the beach for kite surfing.
Below is an important extract of this:
DOLLYMOUNT BEACH, FEBRUARY 2008, CODE OF CONDUCT (IKSA)
- Setup, launch, and land your kite in the designated area. Use launch/land/setup/packdown area only to inflate and deflate kites. No launching and landing outside this area is permitted. No land-boarding (land-yachting) permitted at any time in this area.
- Wrap up lines and sand down kite when not in use.
- Promptly enter and exit the water from and to the launch zone.
- Avoid unnecessary flying of large kites, other than trainer kites, on the beach.
- Land-kiting allowed, only, on the most northern section of the beach.
- Use a Kite leash at all times.
- Stay 200 metres away from all swimmers and stay clear of all areas in front and to the sides of the lifeguard huts in the summer.
- Give right of way to other beach users at all times.
- Assist other kiters to safely land and launch kites.
