This is what could happen if you are at an IKSA Tour event and there is no wind. You have to entertain yourself somehow.

Sligo Kitesurfing Festival

Sligo Kitesurfing Festival will be held on the 1st-3rd of May, 2010 in association with the Irish Kitesurfing Association.

We are planning to hold the event in Rosses Point.

Last year was a great success and this year  we are planning a bigger and better event.

Full details will follow soon, but we are planning a race competition, freestyle competition, no wind alternatives and great nights out.

So, stick the date in your diary, and keep an eye on this site for details!

Recent Instructor Training

Written by Phil McNamara Thursday, 08 April 2023 16:25

Here is a picture of the last training IKSA/ BKSA at Puremagic Achill, March 2010. All the participants were from all corners of Ireland, and beyond: France, Russia, Mauritius. All of them have been trained by examiners AndyGratwick (head of Training BKSA)  and local Diarmuid Higgins and Francois Colussi (Puremagic).

The training lasted 5 days in which the junior instructors were tested and trained in all important fields a Kitesurfing instructor needs to master: Safety, Kite knowledge, Rescue, Risk Assessment, Weather, Organization and management of lessons etc...
They all successfully passed the exam and should be giving lessons, within the IKSA approval School Scheme, very shortly in Ireland.

Congrats to all of them, and good luck in their new, and hopefully windy Career!
