IKSA Event Calendar
Hooked Kitefest 2015
The aim of IKSA Water Charge is to get as many people as we can out on the water, having fun kite racing and attempting the longest hang time... Every rider gets a fighting chance regardless of their personal riding level.
Three fleets will compete alongside each other... it is all about getting people involved, racing and having fun - so don't be intimidated.
The event is open to all riders - there are no heats or knock-outs and, if conditions are anything like Ballyholme back in April, we will be racing all day long!
See our Official Event Guide for more information about this event and check for updates on this page and on IKSA social media channels.
Twin Tip Racing: Mens, Masters 35+, Ladies and Youths (U18)
Twin Tip Racing is open to everyone who likes Kiteboarding and who likes to experience a new challenge. The course will be set in an easy way, so that every Kiteboarder can ride this course with his/her Twin Tip Board.
The IKSA Water Charge was created this year with the aim of developing an all-inclusive and fun tour/competition for our members and the general kiting community.
The prize fund system that will be used for this event is based on competitor numbers and our goal is to return, as near to, 100% of the entry fees back as the prizes for this event - so the more that compete in each division the bigger the prize pot!
Prize Money will be distributed as follows:
- 1st - 50% of Division Entry Fees
- 2nd - 30% of Division Entry Fees
- 3rd - 20% of Division Entry Fees
To illustrate with some examples:
- 10 Masters enter - €350 total entry fees
- Winner €175(50%), 2nd €105 (30%) & 3rd €70 (20%)
- 12 Ladies enter - €420 total entry fees
- Winner €210, 2nd €125 & 3rd €85
- 15 Men enter - €525 total entry fees
- Winner €265, 2nd €160 & 3rd €100
Hang Time: Mens & Ladies
How long can you hang? Take your kite, load up your board and take-off towards the skies! Your \"hang time\" will be measured from when your board leaves the water to when you land... and the longest time takes the crown.
